Hello and welcome to BestLilBiscochitos.com! We are a small boutique home business in beautiful Las Cruces, NM that produces simple, artisan and traditional cookies. Some have said our cookies taste like home in New Mexico, which is pretty high praise in our book! We sell them every autumn weekend and online throughout the year, but can typically fill orders from callers and walk-ins with an hour's notice! Our cookies are always freshly baked upon order, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
A cookie history.
Biscochos (aka Biscochitos) have been the Official State Cookie of NM since 1989, and New Mexico was the first state to declare a state cookie. It's been said the Conquistadores brought the recipe to the New World and they've been a staple in Mexican homes ever since. Biscochos are traditionally served at weddings, baptisms, birthdays, Easter and especially, at Christmastime. Our simple anise-flavored shortbread-style artisan cookie is our very own family recipe, baked thin for a soft yet crispy and delicious result. We loved baking them in our home... here's hoping they soon become a staple in yours too!
